The Bible talks a lot about peace… around 430 times!  The truth: Without God, we cannot experience true peace.  In a world of sin and suffering, the only real and lasting rest believers can find is given to us by the God of PEACE. There are so many verses to find comfort in, but here are a few specifics to study.

18  And Melchizedek king of Salem (Peace) brought out bread and wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) And he blessed him and

said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your. hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

  • Peace and the tithe are mentioned together for the first time in Scripture.Following his victory over a coalition of kings, Abraham gives a tenth of the spoils to Melchizedek.

The angel says to Gideon, "Peace be to you. Do not fear; you shall not die." Gideon then builds an altar and calls it "Jehovah-Shalom" ("The Lord is Peace").

Peacemakers - Sons of God: Matthew 5:9

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
