His wife Eunice contributes in numerous ministries around the church, and is a part of the worship team.
Together they have two children Matthew and Megan, whom are both serving the Lord while continuing their life skills and career pursuit. The Lawlis family loves mission work, helping plant churches locally and in Mexico, and have even participated in Ride to the Wall in Israel.
Craig is currently the senior pastor at CHC.
He loves to see others find their full potential and rise to a new level of service in their lives.
"You should always desire to see others achieve their maximum, while serving God and the Kingdom of Heaven"
Originally from Goldsboro, NC, Jake and Chelsea both attended Emmanuel College in Georgia, where they received a bachelors degree along with practical training. One week after their graduation, the couple was married. Shortly after, they helped lead the first Free Camp in Columbus, GA, where they would find their calling and the start of their journey in ministry. It was at this point the Lord led them to move to Amarillo, TX and work from CHC as the International FreeCamp Directors.
Jake is a bi-vocational minister working for Betenbough Homes as well as working in various capacities within the Great Plains Conference(GPC) of the IPHC. At CHC, Jake coordinates the Kids' Ministry Department for the 0-18 6th grade children. He specifically leads our Yellow City Kids, which is our 0-12 year old Sunday morning group, andalso leads the Wednesdays night Kids' service called City of Refuge Kids or CORK.
He is committed to carry out the mandate "to make disciples" and biblically realizes this starts in the home (Deuteronomy 6).
Chelsea, also a bi-vocatioal minister, works with CHC, GPC and M-25. She has also established a dance ministry for girls ages 13 and up, called GraceFull 1015. She has helped integrate dance into special holiday programs such as Easter and Christmas, and looking forward to expanding the dance worship into Sunday morning services in the future. Chelsea also helps with the Wednesday and Sunday nursery, but is kept busy full time keeping Jake in line!
