John 19:1-3

19 So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. 2 And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. 3 Then they said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands.

1.Those seeking their own way, want Jesus OUT OF THE WAY.

This was the indictment against the Jews.

2. They wanted Him dead.

If dead they could carry on with their own agenda.

3. Crown of Thorns

A fruitless, hostile, uninhabitable place. The Word sown among the thorns was choked out (normally).

Not when it came to Jesus. This is the exact opposite of Jesus. He was HIGH FRUIT!
